Why should you choose solar power?
Types and differences of solar panels
Each type of solar panel has a unique main photovoltaic component (silicon, polymer, potassium-telluride, etc.) to convert light into electricity. The developments provided to the public market have high efficiency and stability for residential or commercial use.
Due to the rapid development of alternative energy, the following types of solar cells have emerged:
- Silicon. This type of panels are divided into: polycrystalline, monocrystalline and amorphous;
- Potassium telluride type batteries;
- Selenium, gallium, copper and indium panels;
- Polymer solar cells;
- Organic batteries;
- Combination or multilayer solar panels.
A secondary criterion is the mechanical properties of the solar panel, which are categorized as follows:
- Rigid;
- Thin-film or flexible solar panels;
- Single-sided or double-sided panels.
The main plus point of solar panels is the high durability and reliability of the design. The device is undemanding in maintenance, but needs wiping the silicon wafer from dust to improve the reception of sunlight.
